The Passing of one of our Family Matriarchs

The world has lost one of its brightest lights.

It is with great sadness we announce, on November 1st, Frances Sheppard, mother, mother-in-law, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend to so many, has crossed the bridge onto her next adventure. She gained her wings and joined Joe, Ken, Tammy, Carl, Grace, and Frankie, looking out for our family and friends from the other side.

Fran’s love was the kind that reached everyone she met. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Even when she was in immense pain, you’d never hear about it. She freely gave her energy, time, money and knowledge to others without hesitation. She worked hard, cared deeply, and treated everyone with fairness, and respect. Her love shaped our family and taught us what it means to show up for one another.

Not even broken bones could keep Fran from trying to take care of everyone. Her heart was always open, her compassion always steady. She taught us that kindness isn’t something you save for special occasions - it’s something you express daily, and often without the expectation of reciprocation. Fran didn’t just love us, she taught us all how to love and how it should feel to be loved.

As we mourn one of the biggest losses, we also carry her lessons forward in our hearts:

  • To check in on the people who’ve helped us along the way.

  • To love unconditionally, and freely.

  • To look after our family, friends, and neighbours, especially when times are hard.

  • If you have extra hands, extra time, or even a little extra love to give, share it.

When the world feels heavy, remember that love is the light that never fades. Fran carried that light her whole life. Now it’s up to us to keep it shining - in our homes, our families, and our communities.

We will be having a celebration of life on Fran’s Birthday, March 22nd, 2026 at the Lake to allow family and friends to make the proper arrangements if necessary. A special thanks to everyone that has reached out to offer their condolences, memories, and appreciation for Fran.
